The property in question is built upon a piece of land, bought by Abraham as eternal place of burial, as written in the Torah of Moses, Genesis 23.16+20
Abraham agreed to Ephron’s terms and weighed out for him the price he had named in the hearing of the Hittites: four hundred shekels of silver, according to the weight current among the merchants. / So the field and the cave in it were deeded to Abraham by the Hittites as a burial site.

Genesis 35.10-12 God said to him, “Your name is Jacob, but you will no longer be called Jacob; your name will be Israel.” So he named him Israel. And God said to him, “I am God Almighty; be fruitful and increase in number. A nation and a community of nations will come from you, and kings will be among your descendants. The land I gave to Abraham and Isaac I also give to you, and I will give this land to your descendants after you.”
But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know. He too will become a people, and he too will become great. Nevertheless, his younger brother will be greater than he, and his descendants will become a community of nations.” He blessed them that day and said, “In your name will Israel pronounce this blessing: ‘May God make you like Ephraim and Manasseh.’ ” So he put Ephraim ahead of Manasseh.
and though Judah was the strongest of his brothers and a ruler came from him, the rights of the firstborn belonged to Joseph—
In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned over all Israel and Judah thirty-three years.
This is what the Lord says: “When 70 years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place.
